TVS Motor Company has launched a new entry-level version of the iQube electric scooter in India.
The biggest update is the new 2.3kWh battery pack, which replaces the earlier 2.2kWh battery.
The new iQube is priced at ₹1.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Despite the battery size increasing by just 0.1kWh, the claimed IDC range has gone up from 94km to 114km on a full charge.
Same Motor, Better Range
The new iQube continues to use the same BLDC hub-mounted motor. It produces 3.68kW peak power and 140Nm torque.
The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 68kmph. It also comes with regenerative braking and can climb slopes of up to 10 degrees.
The lithium-ion battery has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It also gets a Battery Management System (BMS), spike protection,
and a 50,000km battery warranty. Charging the battery from 0 to 80% takes around 2 hours and 50 minutes with the portable charger.
Suspension and Features
The scooter is built on a tubular frame with telescopic front forks and hydraulic twin-tube rear shock absorbers.
It rides on 12-inch tubeless tyres and gets 130mm drum brakes on both wheels.
The entry-level variant now comes with a 12.7cm (5-inch) LCD display. It shows battery level, remaining range, incoming call alerts, side-stand warning, and parking assist information.
Connected features include Bluetooth, GSM connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, OTA updates, geofencing, anti-theft alerts, live vehicle status, crash
and fall alerts, remote connectivity, and Alexa support. In total, the scooter offers more than 118 connected features.
LED Lights and Colour Options
The new TVS iQube comes with full LED lighting, a USB charging port, parking brake, and reverse/forward parking assist.
It is available in Pearl White, Walnut Brown, and Titanium Grey colour options.
TVS also announced that the iQube has crossed 10 lakh (1 million) sales in India.
To celebrate this milestone, the company recently introduced the iQube MillionR Special Edition, based on the 3.5kWh variant, which offers a claimed IDC range of 145km.
