Electric vehicle owners in India have received a major boost. Hyundai Motor India has partnered with Reliance-backed Jio-bp to expand its EV charging network.
With this partnership, EV users can now access more than 37,000 charging points across the country through the myHyundai app.
The move is expected to make charging more convenient and help reduce one of the biggest concerns among EV owners—finding a reliable charging station.
More Charging Stations Across India
As part of the partnership, over 7,000 Jio-bp Pulse charging points spread across 300 cities have been added to Hyundai’s charging platform.
At the same time, Jio-bp users will also get access to Hyundai’s 183 DC fast-charging stations.
The myHyundai app is open to EV users of all vehicle brands, allowing them to locate and use public charging stations through a single platform.
Hyundai Aims to Reduce Charging Anxiety
Hyundai says customer concerns are shifting from range anxiety to charging anxiety, as more people adopt electric vehicles.
Hyun Sup Lee, Executive Director and Function Head, Corporate Planning at Hyundai Motor India, said the partnership is aimed at making EV charging easier, faster, and more reliable.
According to him, improving charging infrastructure is essential for creating a better electric mobility experience in India.
Jio-bp Network Covers Highways and Cities
Jio-bp currently operates more than 7,000 charging points in over 300 cities, with many stations located along major national highways.
The company offers DC fast chargers ranging from 60 kW to 480 kW and claims its charging network maintains a 96% uptime, helping provide a dependable charging experience for EV users.
Hyundai Plans Bigger Expansion
Hyundai currently operates 183 DC fast-charging stations across India. The company plans to increase this number to 600 stations by 2030.
In the coming years, Hyundai’s charging stations—including existing and future ones—will also be available through the Jio-bp Pulse Charge Pro app, making it easier for EV owners to access charging services from both platforms.
Jio-bp Chairman Sarthak Behuria said the partnership is not just about increasing charging points but also about building confidence in electric mobility.
Jio-bp CEO Akshay Wadhwa added that reliable and high-uptime charging stations are key to addressing EV owners’ concerns about finding a working charger when needed.
