BGauss has launched its new OoWah MAX Plus electric scooter in India.
The new model sits above the OoWah EX in the company’s EV lineup and is aimed at first-time EV buyers and young riders.
The scooter is designed for daily city travel and will compete with popular electric scooters such as the Ola S1, Ather Rizta, and TVS Orbiter.
145km Range and Removable Battery
The BGauss OoWah MAX Plus comes with a 3kWh removable LFP battery and a PMSM hub motor that delivers 2.4kW peak power and 1.5kW continuous power.
According to ARAI, the scooter offers a claimed range of 145km on a full charge. The removable battery can be charged at home, making it more convenient for users.
The scooter has a top speed of 60kmph. Both the motor and battery have an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
The battery is also CAN-enabled, allowing it to communicate continuously with the scooter for better performance monitoring.
Charging Time and Key Features
BGauss is providing a 750W charger free with the scooter. It charges the battery from 0 to 80% in 3 hours 30 minutes and 0 to 100% in 4 hours 55 minutes.
The company also lists an optional 1350W charger, which can fully charge the battery in 2 hours 50 minutes. However, its price and availability have not yet been announced.
The scooter also includes useful features such as reverse assist, a distance-to-empty indicator, all-LED lighting, USB charging, and a limp home mode.
Price, Warranty and Colours
The OoWah MAX Plus is priced at ₹1.23 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in Emerald Shadow, Jamun Punch, Tangy Toma, and Zesty Red colour options.
The scooter offers 21 litres of under-seat storage, a 765mm seat height, 160mm ground clearance, and a 104kg kerb weight.
BGauss provides a 3-year or 36,000km warranty on the scooter and charger, while the battery gets a 3-year or 50,000km warranty. Buyers can also extend the battery warranty to 5 years or 75,000km.
For buyers looking for a more affordable option, the OoWah EX is still available at ₹94,990 (ex-showroom).
