Good news for international travelers. Air India Express has started ticket bookings for its new direct flight service between Navi Mumbai International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Passengers can now book tickets through the airline’s official website, mobile app, and other major travel booking platforms. The direct flights are scheduled to begin on July 15.
First International Flight from Navi Mumbai Airport
With this launch, Air India Express will become the first airline to operate international flights from the newly developed Navi Mumbai International Airport in Maharashtra.
The airline said the new route will provide travelers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with another convenient option to fly to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
It is expected to improve connectivity, offer more travel choices, and reduce dependence on Mumbai’s main airport.
Flight Frequency to Increase Later
Initially, Air India Express will operate two flights per week on the Navi Mumbai–Abu Dhabi route starting July 15.
From July 29, the airline plans to increase the frequency to three flights per week.
With this addition, Air India Express will operate a total of 30 weekly flights from Navi Mumbai, connecting passengers directly to Abu Dhabi, Bengaluru, and Delhi.
The airline also highlighted its growing presence in Maharashtra. It currently operates more than 95 weekly flights from Mumbai, over 100 weekly flights from Pune, and 14 weekly flights from Nagpur.
Cargo Operations Also Starting Soon
Navi Mumbai International Airport CEO B.V.J.K. Sharma had earlier announced that international flight operations are expected to begin on July 15.
According to him, both Air India Express and IndiGo will operate international services from the airport. Cargo flight operations are also set to begin on the same date.
Commercial flight operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport started on December 25 last year. The airport was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8, 2025.
The launch of international and cargo services marks another major step in expanding Navi Mumbai Airport’s role as a key aviation hub in India.
