OnePlus has started rolling out a new software update for its popular Nord 3 smartphone. The device, which was launched in July 2023, has become the first OnePlus phone to receive the latest June 2026 Android security patch.
The new OxygenOS 16 update is currently being released to users in India and is expected to reach more devices gradually.
New OxygenOS 16 Update Arrives for Nord 3
According to a report by TheTechOutlook, OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 16.0.5.1001 update for the OnePlus Nord 3 in India. The firmware version for this release is CPH2491_16.0.5.1001(EX01).
At the moment, the company has only announced the update for Indian users. There is no official information yet about when it will be available in other markets.
The latest update mainly focuses on security improvements. It includes the June 2026 Android security patch but does not introduce any major new features or design changes.
With this rollout, the OnePlus Nord 3 becomes the first OnePlus smartphone to receive the June 2026 security update.
Software Support Timeline
The OnePlus Nord 3 was launched with OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13. At launch, OnePlus promised three major Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates for the device.
Since the phone has already received the Android 16 update, it has now reached its final major Android upgrade. However, users will continue to receive regular security updates until July 2027.
OnePlus Nord 3 Specifications and Features
The OnePlus Nord 3 features a 6.74-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth scrolling and gaming performance. The screen also supports HDR10+ and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor and Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. It comes with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
For photography, the phone offers a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor with OIS support. On the front, it features a 16MP selfie camera.
Battery, Charging and Price
The OnePlus Nord 3 packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging for quicker top-ups.
Other notable features include an Alert Slider, an in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth 5.2 support.
At launch, the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage was priced at ₹33,999.
