The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given Class 12 students extra time to apply for answer sheet verification and re-evaluation.
The board has extended the application deadline by one day, providing relief to students who were unable to complete the process earlier.
The revised deadline is now midnight on June 7, 2026.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of students who wish to review their board exam results.
New Deadline Announced by CBSE
Earlier, the last date to submit applications for verification and re-evaluation was June 6, 2026.
However, CBSE has now extended the deadline until midnight on June 7.
In an official announcement, the board said the decision was taken in the interest of students to provide additional time and support for completing the application process.
Students who are planning to request answer sheet verification or re-evaluation should complete their applications before the revised deadline.
Why Is Verification and Re-evaluation Important?
The verification and re-evaluation process allows students to review their examination results if they believe there may be an error.
Through this process, students can request:
Verification of marks awarded
Re-checking of answer sheets
Re-evaluation of specific questions
This gives students an opportunity to ensure that their answer sheets have been evaluated correctly.
Cyber Attack on CBSE Portal Foiled
The deadline extension comes shortly after CBSE’s post-results services portal faced a major cyber attack on June 5.
According to the board, the attempted attack was successfully blocked due to continuous monitoring and quick action by its technical teams.
CBSE stated that its security systems detected and stopped all unauthorized attempts to access the portal.
Following the incident, the board filed a complaint, and the Delhi Police registered an FIR under the Information Technology Act.
An investigation into the matter is currently underway.
No Student Data Was Leaked
CBSE has assured students and parents that no personal or academic data was compromised during the cyber attack attempt.
The board said preliminary technical audits found no evidence of any data breach or unauthorized access to critical systems.
Officials also confirmed that the digital infrastructure remained secure throughout the incident and continues to be monitored closely.
What Students Should Do Now
Students who want to apply for answer sheet verification or re-evaluation should take advantage of the extended deadline and complete the process before midnight on June 7.
With only a limited window remaining, applicants are advised not to wait until the last moment to submit their requests.
CBSE has also asked students to carefully note the revised schedule and ensure that all applications are submitted within the extended timeframe.
