If you are planning to buy a new car, June 2026 could be the perfect time. Several automakers are preparing to launch exciting new models in India, including electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, luxury SUVs, and performance cars.
From Tata’s much-awaited Sierra EV to premium offerings from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Skoda, here are the top cars expected to arrive this month.
Tata Sierra EV Could Make Its Debut
Tata Motors is expected to launch the Sierra EV in June 2026. It will be positioned below the Harrier EV in the company’s electric vehicle lineup.
The SUV is likely to be offered with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. While Tata has not officially revealed battery details, reports suggest that the Sierra EV could deliver a real-world driving range of more than 500 km.
In terms of design, the electric version will look similar to the regular Sierra. However, it is expected to feature a closed front grille, a redesigned bumper, and aerodynamic wheels. Inside, the SUV will get a modern and lightweight cabin design with a dashboard similar to the ICE version.
The Sierra EV will compete with models such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE6, Maruti Suzuki eVitara, and MG ZS EV.
BYD’s First Plug-in Hybrid for India
BYD India has teased its first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) for the Indian market. The company has not yet confirmed the model name, but the Atto 2 and Sealion 6 are possible candidates.
Globally, the Atto 2 PHEV comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with either a 7.8kWh or 18kWh battery pack. BYD claims a combined driving range of up to 998 km.
The Sealion 6 is offered with either a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Both versions are available with 18.3kWh or 26.6kWh battery options and offer a claimed range of up to 1,092 km.
The new BYD hybrid model could be unveiled later this month.
Skoda Kodiaq RS Set to Arrive
After the Octavia RS, Skoda is preparing to bring the Kodiaq RS to India. It will become the brand’s first RS-badged SUV in the country and is expected to be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
The international-spec Kodiaq RS uses an upgraded 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 60 hp and 80 Nm more than the standard version.
It comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.
The SUV also gets sporty styling updates, including a black grille, aggressive bumpers, 20-inch alloy wheels, and red brake calipers.
Inside, buyers can expect an all-black cabin with red accents, contrast stitching, and sport seats with integrated headrests.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift Launch Confirmed
Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed that the facelifted S-Class will launch in India on June 15, 2026.
One of the biggest highlights will be the new S 450E plug-in hybrid variant. It combines a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol inline-six engine with a 22kWh battery-powered electric motor.
This marks the first plug-in hybrid S-Class for India. The luxury sedan produces 435 hp and 680 Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.7 seconds.
Mercedes is also expected to offer a petrol-powered version of the updated S-Class at a later stage.
BMW X6 M60i Ready for Launch
BMW has already started accepting pre-bookings for the new X6 M60i ahead of its launch this month.
The performance SUV is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid petrol engine that generates 523 hp and 750 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s all-wheel-drive system.
BMW claims the X6 M60i can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.
