New Hyundai Exter 2026 launched with 25+ Updates

Hyundai Xter has been launched in an updated version by Hyundai Motor India in the Indian market. This new model comes with more than 25 major updates in design, technology, and safety.

The starting ex-showroom price is ₹5.80 lakh. It also gets new color options and a more premium interior. However, the engine and powertrain remain the same.

Variant-wise Features and Pricing

The petrol manual (MT) version of the new Xter 2026 starts at ₹5,79,900 for the HX 2 variant and goes up to ₹8,35,900 for the top HX 8 variant.

The AMT variants are priced between ₹6,90,900 and ₹9,41,900, with the highest price for the HX 10 variant.

For CNG buyers, the price starts at ₹6,99,900 for the HX 2 variant and goes up to ₹9,40,900 for the HX 8 variant.

Updated Design and Exterior

The new Xter now looks more muscular and sporty than before. It gets a redesigned front grille, updated bumpers, and stylish diamond-cut alloy wheels.

At the rear, there is a new wing-type spoiler and an updated tailgate, giving it a fresh and modern appearance.

Hyundai claims that it is the tallest SUV in its segment and also has the longest wheelbase. The SUV measures 3,830 mm in length and 1,723 mm in width.

Premium and Modern Interior

Inside the cabin, the SUV now offers a ‘navy and grey’ dual-tone theme, which gives it a premium feel. The dashboard comes with a 3D carbon finish, along with a sporty D-cut steering wheel and metal pedals.

It also includes features like a built-in dashcam, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric sunroof, and a digital instrument cluster, making the cabin more advanced and futuristic.

Engine and Powertrain Details

The SUV is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine. It is the only SUV in its segment to offer a four-cylinder engine, which provides a smoother and more refined driving experience.

This engine is available with both manual and AMT gearbox options. Additionally, buyers can also choose a CNG powertrain option.

Strong Focus on Safety

Hyundai has improved safety features in the new Xter. It now comes with six airbags as standard across all variants.

The SUV offers around 30 standard safety features, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist (HAC), along with more than 45 advanced safety features.

In terms of colors, two new options have been added: Golden Bronze and Titanium Black Matte.
