Ahead of the announcement of assembly elections in five states, the central government has decided to transfer more than ₹18,640 crore to the bank accounts of about 9.32 crore farmers across India.
This amount will be released as the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme.
Under this scheme, eligible farmer families receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 every year. The money is given in three equal installments.
The aim of this support is to help farmers manage their agricultural expenses.
When Will the 22nd Installment Be Released?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 22nd installment on Friday, March 13, 2026, around 5 PM.
The announcement will be made from Guwahati, which is located in the election-bound state of Assam.
This installment will directly benefit millions of farmers across the country.
Financial Support Given Under the PM-Kisan Scheme
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that this step shows the central government’s strong commitment to supporting farmers.
According to him, once the 22nd installment is released, the total amount transferred under the scheme will cross ₹4.27 lakh crore.
Since the scheme started in 2019, more than ₹4.09 lakh crore has already been transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible farmer families.
Special Benefit for Women Farmers
Under the scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 per year in three installments.
The minister also said that more than 2.15 crore women farmers will receive financial assistance in the 22nd installment.
This money helps farmers buy important agricultural items such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, which are necessary for farming.
How to Check PM-Kisan 22nd Installment Status
The 22nd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme is being released today, and farmers can check their payment status easily using their mobile phones.
Follow these steps:
Visit the official website pmkisan.gov.in.
Click on the “Know Your Status” option.
Enter your registration number and the captcha code, then submit.
After that, enter the OTP received on your mobile phone.
Your installment status will appear on the screen.
e-KYC for PM-Kisan
When e-KYC was introduced on the PM-Kisan portal, many people rushed to Aadhaar service centers to complete the process.
However, the e-KYC process can also be completed easily from home using a mobile phone or laptop, without visiting any center.
