Under the new rules, passport holders from 93 countries and territories can enter Thailand without a visa. They can stay for up to 60 days for tourism, work, or short-term business.
In addition, citizens of 31 countries can still apply for a visa on arrival at immigration checkpoints. The government is also planning to add eight more countries to this list soon. These steps will reduce the need to apply for a visa before travel.
New Visa Options for Workers and Students

The government has also introduced the non-immigrant ED Plus visa. This visa allows people to combine work with study or education.

Simpler Visa System and E-Visa Expansion
Thailand has reduced the number of non-immigrant visa categories from 17 to 7 to make the system easier.
From January 1, 2025, travelers can apply for e-visas through 94 Thai embassies and consulates worldwide. These changes aim to make the process more transparent and faster.
Digital Arrival Card for Faster Entry
Thailand introduced the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TM.6 online system) on May 1, 2025. Travelers must now submit their details online before arriving. This will help reduce long queues at airports and border checkpoints.
