To improve public convenience, the Postal Department has extended the booking hours of 14 post offices in Lucknow, including the busy Chowk Post Office.
Earlier, except for the General Post Office (GPO), booking facilities at other post offices were available only until 4 p.m., forcing people to rush to the GPO. To reduce this inconvenience, the department has revised the booking timings.
Extended Booking Timings at Key Post Offices
The Chowk Post Office in the Old City is the most crowded. Keeping this in mind, booking facilities at Chowk will now be available for a longer duration. Bookings will start at 8 a.m. and continue until 8 p.m., providing a 12-hour service window.
At nine post offices located in areas such as Alambagh, Aliganj, Aminabad, and others, booking counters will open at 10 a.m. and remain open until 6 p.m. This offers a 10-hour booking facility.
In addition, four post offices—including Awas Vikas Colony and Jankipuram—will offer booking services from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Alambagh, Aliganj, Aminabad, Dilkusha, Gomtinagar, High Court Complex, Indiranagar, Mahanagar, Rajendra Nagar
Immediate Implementation of the New Schedule
Senior Postmaster Awadhesh Kumar Mishra stated that the booking hours have been extended due to heavy crowds at post offices.
Orders have been issued to all concerned post offices, and the new timing arrangement has come into effect immediately.
