This is important news for railway passengers. From January 1, 2026, Indian Railways will implement a new timetable across 70 railway divisions under 18 zones.
Due to this nationwide change, the South Eastern Railway is making significant updates to its passenger train operations.
According to railway sources, the schedules of several major trains will be revised from the same date.
Because of this, trains that originate from or terminate at the Chakradharpur Railway Division may see time changes ranging from 5–10 minutes up to 1 hour.
Reason for the Timetable Change and Passenger Advisory
The Railways have stated that the revised timetable is being introduced for operational convenience and technical reasons. Passengers are advised to check the updated train schedules before traveling.

Passengers traveling on or after January 1, 2026, should arrive at the station according to the new schedule, not the time printed on their tickets.
Trains Affected in Chakradharpur Railway Division
The following trains passing through the Chakradharpur Railway Division will have changes in their timetables:
Train No. 20891/20892 Tata–Brahmapur Vande Bharat Express and
Train No. 20872/20871 Rourkela–Howrah Vande Bharat Express
→ Arrival and departure times at Rourkela may change by up to 85 minutes.
Train No. 20835/20836 Rourkela–Puri Vande Bharat Express
→ Departure time from Rourkela may be revised.
Train No. 21894 Patna–Tata Vande Bharat Express
→ Arrival time at Tatanagar may change by 10 minutes.
In addition, many express and passenger trains passing through Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, and Rourkela may have arrival and departure time changes of 5 to 10 minutes.
