MG Motor has launched the facelifted version of its popular SUV, the Hector, in the Indian market. The updated MG Hector is priced between Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Along with this, MG has also announced the prices of the facelifted Hector Plus, which is available in 6-seater and 7-seater variants, starting at Rs 17.29 lakh.

With this facelift, MG has refreshed the Hector’s styling to make it more appealing and competitive in its segment. Below are the complete details of its design, features, safety, and engine options.

Exterior Design Updates

In terms of design, the new MG Hector retains its large front grille, but the earlier diamond pattern has been replaced with a new honeycomb design, giving the SUV a bolder and more modern look.

The front air dam has also been redesigned. MG has added newly styled alloy wheels, which enhance the SUV’s side profile.

However, the lighting setup remains the same. The Hector continues to get split headlamps, and at the rear, the LED light bar connecting the taillamps has been retained.

More Premium Interior and Features

The cabin of the new MG Hector now feels more premium, thanks to the dual-tone Urban Tan interior theme.

The SUV is equipped with a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports i-Swipe gesture control technology.

With this system, the HVAC can be operated using two fingers, while music and volume can be controlled with three fingers. MG has also added 10GB RAM to ensure smoother system performance.

Other key features include a digital auto key, proximity lock and unlock, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, horizontal AC vents, and a Harman Infinity sound system.

Advanced Safety Features

On the safety front, the facelifted MG Hector is well-equipped. It comes with six airbags, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite.

The ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, bend cruise assist, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, front collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.

In addition, the SUV also gets Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, hill hold control, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Engine and Powertrain Remain the Same

There are no mechanical changes in the MG Hector and Hector Plus. The petrol variants continue to use the 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 143bhp and 250Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

The diesel version is powered by a 2.0-litre engine that generates 170bhp and 350Nm of torque.

Overall, while the facelift brings updated styling, better interiors, and advanced features, the driving experience and core identity of the MG Hector remain unchanged.
