In the final weeks of 2025, many companies have started offering major discounts on electric cars.

After the government’s recent GST tax changes, petrol and diesel cars became much cheaper, which caused a sudden drop in demand for electric vehicles (EVs).

As a result, companies are now trying to clear their remaining EV inventory before the year ends.

This time, discounts are not limited to just one or two models—most brands are offering strong offers across their entire electric car lineup.

Huge Limited-Time Deals on Popular EV Models

Companies like Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, Tata Motors, and JSW MG are providing attractive discounts.

Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra XEV 9e are offering benefits of up to ₹3.50 lakh.

The MG Comet EV price has been reduced by about ₹1 lakh.

Select variants of the MG ZS EV now come with price cuts of up to ₹1.35 lakh.

Why Companies Are Offering These Discounts

These heavy discounts are mainly due to the reduced GST on petrol and diesel (ICE) cars, effective from September 22. Earlier, the price gap between ICE cars and EVs was smaller.

In November 2025, EV sales reached around 14,700 units, showing a 63% year-on-year growth.

However, their market share dropped to 3.7%, compared to about 5% before the GST cut. This means the market is expanding, but EVs are losing momentum.
