Saudi Arabia has launched a pilot version of the KSA Visa Platform to simplify the travel process for visitors.
This digital system allows tourists, people visiting relatives, and Umrah pilgrims to easily apply for electronic visas.
The platform aims to boost tourism, increase transparency, and strengthen cultural and people-to-people connections.
It acts as an all-in-one portal, making the visa application and processing faster, smoother, and more user-friendly.
Under this platform, travelers can visit relatives and friends, take part in tourism and cultural events, attend public gatherings, and perform Umrah (except during the Hajj period).
Types of Visas and Processing Time
Applicants can choose between two types of visas based on their travel purpose and frequency:
Single-entry visa: Valid for 90 days, allowing a stay of up to 90 days.
Multiple-entry visa: Valid for one year, allowing a stay of up to 90 days on each visit.
Visa processing will be quick — ranging from just one minute to a maximum of three days.
Visa Fees and Eligibility
Applicants must pay around $80 (over ₹7,000) as a refundable visa fee.
In addition, there is a digital visa service fee and a digital insurance fee of about ₹1,000. Health insurance is also required separately.
To apply, travelers must:
Be at least 18 years old.
Have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry.
Hold valid health insurance.
Comply with all Saudi laws.
Applicants below 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Three Ways to Get a Saudi Visa
Saudi Arabia offers three main methods to obtain a visa:
e-Visa: Available to citizens of eligible countries, holders of valid Schengen, US, or UK visas, and permanent residents of GCC countries.
Through embassies or visa service centers: Applicants can apply via Saudi embassies or recognized visa offices.
Visa on Arrival: Available to travelers who hold valid Schengen, US, or UK visas and have used them at least once.
This new visa system marks a major step toward making Saudi Arabia more accessible and appealing for international tourists and pilgrims alike.
