Global Factors Impacting Gold Prices
In the international market, US spot gold stood at $3,937.88 per ounce, with December futures at $3,950.70 per ounce.
The US Federal Reserve recently cut interest rates by a quarter-point, but Fed Chair Jerome Powell warned that another rate cut by year-end is uncertain.
Analysts say this hawkish stance is negative for gold in the short term, though long-term trends remain positive.
The European Central Bank is expected to keep rates unchanged, which also influences global gold prices.
Why Gold Prices Matter in India
Gold prices in India are influenced by international rates, import duties, taxes, and currency fluctuations.
Gold holds both cultural and financial importance, especially during weddings and festivals, making it a preferred investment.
Year-to-date, gold has climbed around 52%, peaking at $4,381.21 per ounce on October 20, driven by geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainties, rate-cut expectations, and central bank purchases.
Investors and traders keep a close watch on daily price changes to make timely buying or selling decisions.
