Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL) is expanding Terminal 3 (T3) to handle more international travelers, prompting adjustments in Air India and Air India Express domestic operations.
Air India Domestic Flights: New Terminal Assignments
Air India will operate 60 of its 180 daily domestic flights from Terminal 2 (T2).
Air India Express domestic flights will now operate from Terminal 1 (T1).
International flights for both airlines remain unchanged at T3.
How to Identify T2 Flights
Air India has assigned new four-digit flight numbers starting with ‘1’ for flights operating from T2 (e.g., AI1737, AI1787).
All flights in this series will depart from T2, helping passengers easily identify their terminal.
Convenience for Passengers Changing Terminals
Inter-terminal transfers will be available for passengers with connecting flights between Air India and Air India Express.
Baggage for boarding-pass holders will be transferred directly to the airside.
Free shuttle services between T1, T2, and T3 will run every 10 minutes.
Buggy rides will be available for passengers needing special assistance.
Extra Support for Travelers
Passengers will receive notifications of terminal changes via SMS and email.
New bookings will show terminal information on tickets, and online check-in passengers will receive special alerts.
Additional ground staff, wearing distinctive T-shirts, will be deployed to assist passengers.
