PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: If you are waiting for the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan), this update is important.
The central government has made some changes to the scheme, which will directly affect the upcoming installment for farmers.
Extension of benefits
The government has introduced a new rule that will help farmers living in border areas who do not have proper land documents.
In such cases, the state government will certify that the person is actually engaged in farming. After this verification, these farmers will also become eligible to receive benefits under the scheme.
21st installment may come by Diwali
Farmers across the country are eagerly waiting for the 21st installment. The government has indicated that ₹2,000 could be transferred to farmers’ bank accounts before Diwali, giving them good news ahead of the festival.
Who will get the money first?
So far, all 20 installments of the scheme were released at the same time across India. But this time, the rule has changed slightly.
The central government has decided that farmers in flood-affected states will get the 21st installment first.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also hinted that farmers in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab may be among the first to receive this benefit.
e-KYC is mandatory
Farmers must also remember that without completing e-KYC, no funds will be credited to their accounts. To complete this, they need to visit the official website pmkisan.gov.in.
On the homepage, select the “e-KYC” option, then enter Aadhaar details and mobile number to finish the process.
