You no longer need to visit the UIDAI website or use the DigiLocker app to download your Aadhaar card.
The Government of India has introduced a new facility where you can get your Aadhaar in PDF format through the MyGov Helpdesk WhatsApp chatbot.
Requirements Before You Begin
To download Aadhaar on WhatsApp, make sure you have:
A mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
A DigiLocker account.
The official MyGov WhatsApp number +91-9013151515 saved in your phone.
Step-by-Step Process
Open WhatsApp and send “Hi” or “Namaste” to +91-9013151515.
From the options, select DigiLocker services.
Confirm your DigiLocker account and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
You will receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
Enter it.
After successful authentication, the chatbot will display your available documents.
Select Aadhaar, and you will instantly receive it as a PDF on WhatsApp.
Important Things to Note
You can download only one document at a time.
Aadhaar will be available only if it is already linked to DigiLocker.
If not linked, you must connect Aadhaar through the DigiLocker website or app first.
Benefits of Using WhatsApp for Aadhaar
Quick and easy – no need to open websites or apps.
Secure – the service is officially government-approved.
User-friendly – even those less familiar with technology can use it.
Available anytime – you can download Aadhaar 24/7.
Security of the Service
This service is run by the MyGov platform under the Government of India.
Since documents are shared only after OTP-based verification, the process is considered completely secure.
