The festive season has started in India with Navratri, followed by Diwali and Chhath Puja.
During this time, many people travel back home from their workplace or place of study.
Because of this, getting train tickets becomes very difficult, and long queues are seen at railway stations.
To make this process easier, the government has launched the UTS app, which allows passengers to book train tickets directly from their phones, without standing in line.
What is the UTS App?
The UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) app is a mobile application developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) under Indian Railways.
It is designed for booking local train tickets, passenger train tickets, and unreserved tickets.
The ticket is generated digitally on your phone, so no printout is needed.
You can also book platform tickets and season tickets using the app.
The app is available on both the Google Play Store (Android) and the Apple App Store (iPhone).
How to Book Tickets Using the App
Download the UTS app on your smartphone.
Register by entering your mobile number and required details.
Create a password and log in with your ID and password.
Go to “Book Ticket” and enter your origin and destination stations.
Make the payment online.
Once payment is successful, your digital ticket will be available in your account.
By using this app, passengers can save time, avoid standing in long queues, and book tickets easily during the busy festive season.
