Tata motors slashes car prices after GST drop

Starting from 22 September 2025, people in India will benefit from a reduction in GST (Goods and Services Tax) on passenger vehicles.

In response, Tata Motors has announced a price cut on its passenger cars and SUVs, ranging from ₹65,000 to ₹1.55 lakh.

The GST Council has revised the tax structure:

Small vehicles (LPG/CNG up to 1200cc, diesel up to 1500cc, and length up to 4000mm) will now have 18% GST.

Larger vehicles will now have 40% GST, reduced from the earlier 45–50%.

This change will result in lower prices for customers.

The Tata Nexon has an ex-showroom price starting from ₹8 lakh and going up to ₹15.60 lakh.

Due to the new GST rate, buyers can save up to ₹1.55 lakh on the top variant — which means a 10% reduction in cost.
