Starting from 22 September 2025, people in India will benefit from a reduction in GST (Goods and Services Tax) on passenger vehicles.
In response, Tata Motors has announced a price cut on its passenger cars and SUVs, ranging from ₹65,000 to ₹1.55 lakh.
The GST Council has revised the tax structure:
Small vehicles (LPG/CNG up to 1200cc, diesel up to 1500cc, and length up to 4000mm) will now have 18% GST.
Larger vehicles will now have 40% GST, reduced from the earlier 45–50%.
This change will result in lower prices for customers.
