Reliance Jio has surprised its users once again by removing another popular prepaid plan.
The telecom company has now discontinued its Rs 799 recharge plan, which was a favorite among customers looking for long validity at an affordable price.
This plan offered 84 days validity, unlimited voice calls, daily data, and 100 SMS per day.
Many users who found it suitable for three months of usage will now have to look for alternative packs.
Benefits of the Rs 799 Plan
The Rs 799 plan belonged to Jio’s mid-range category and was in high demand for several months. It included the following:
Data: 1.5 GB per day (total of about 126 GB in 84 days)
Calling: Unlimited voice calls on all networks
SMS: 100 SMS per day
Validity: 84 days
OTT Benefits: Free access to JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud
Effect on Customers
For users who preferred a simple and affordable recharge every three months, this discontinuation is a disappointment.
Customers who were satisfied with 1.5 GB daily data will now need to shift to either the Rs 666 plan or a costlier pack.
Jio Also Removed Rs 249 Plan
Earlier, Jio had already withdrawn its Rs 249 prepaid plan, which was one of the most budget-friendly options. It offered:
Data: 1 GB per day (total of 28 GB in 28 days)
Calling: Unlimited voice calls
SMS: 100 SMS per day
Validity: 28 days
This plan was popular among users who wanted a balance of affordability and benefits.
Although Jio still provides plans under Rs 250, the Rs 249 pack remained a first choice for many because of its well-rounded features.
