WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps today, trusted by millions of people worldwide. To make chatting even better, the company regularly introduces new features.
This time, WhatsApp is testing an AI-powered feature that will help users improve their messages before sending them, while also keeping privacy safe.
‘Writing Help Tool’ Introduced in Beta Version
Meta has added a new AI tool called “Writing Help” in WhatsApp’s Android beta version (2.25.23.7).
This tool helps users write messages more clearly and prevents mistakes. It is powered by Meta AI, which is already being used on Instagram for tasks like generating images
and planning trips. Now, it will also help in editing and improving WhatsApp messages.
Meta is also using private processing technology to ensure security. This means AI can edit your messages, but your identity remains confidential,
and chats stay encrypted. So, privacy and safety are fully protected.
Features of Writing Help
The “Writing Help” feature allows you to change how your messages look:
Rephrase – Write the same message in different words.
Professional – Send a well-structured, formal message.
Funny – Make your messages entertaining.
Proofread – Correct spelling or grammar mistakes.
It’s completely your choice whether to use the AI’s suggestion or send your original message.
Another important point: the receiver will not know if you used AI to edit your message. By default, this feature will be turned off, and you’ll need to enable it in your settings.
Voice Chat with Meta AI
Apart from Writing Help, WhatsApp is also testing a new Voice Chat feature for Android users. This will bring a Meta AI chatbot with a dynamic icon, similar to Apple’s Siri.
The chatbot will answer your questions in text, provide sources for the answers, and even show how reliable the information is.
