New Delhi: Airtel users across India experienced a major service outage on Monday, facing problems with both calls and internet connectivity.

According to outage-tracking platform Downdetector, more than 2,300 users had reported issues by 4:04 PM.
The problems affected both voice calls and mobile data, with reports coming in from metro cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi, indicating a nationwide issue.

Airtel acknowledged the outage on its official social media account, stating:
The company stated, “We are currently experiencing a network outage. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue and restore services promptly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.”
Customers Face Hours-Long Disruptions
Angry users took to social media, complaining that the network problems had lasted for hours. Many said they could not make or receive calls, while others faced issues with SMS services as well.

Some customers also reported unexplained data usage, saying their 4G data was being consumed even though they were subscribed to 5G plans.
This raised questions about the reliability of Airtel’s infrastructure. One user posted on X:
