Leading the EV revolution in India, Tata Motors has announced a Lifetime HV Battery Warranty for its Nexon.ev 45kWh and Curvv.ev SUV Coupe models. Let’s understand the details clearly.
What is the Lifetime HV Battery Warranty?
Tata Motors is now offering a lifetime warranty on the battery of select electric vehicles, with no limit on kilometers driven.
This means that no matter how far you drive, your battery will remain under warranty.
Earlier, this feature was available only for the Harrier EV. But after a strong response, it is now being extended to the Nexon EV and Curvv EV as well.
Who can benefit from it?
This warranty is available not just to new buyers, but also to the first owners of these EVs.
Existing Tata EV customers (such as Tiago.ev or Tigor.ev owners) who now choose to buy a Nexon EV 45kWh or Curvv EV will also receive a loyalty benefit of ₹50,000.
What changes with this move?
Now there’s no need to worry about replacing the battery. The most expensive part of an EV is now covered under a free lifetime warranty.
This will increase the vehicle’s resale value and help maintain its market worth.
Over 10 years, it could save you around ₹8–9 lakh, as EVs already have lower fuel and maintenance costs compared to petrol vehicles.
This step is expected to encourage more people in India to adopt electric vehicles and will strengthen the EV ecosystem further.
