BSNL Launches Special Travel SIM for Amarnath Pilgrims

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), the government telecom company, has introduced a special Yatra SIM card for pilgrims going on the Amarnath Yatra this year.

This SIM will help devotees stay connected with their loved ones without spending too much on mobile recharges.

Affordable Plan with Unlimited Benefits

The special BSNL SIM comes with a ₹196 recharge plan that is valid for 15 days. It offers unlimited calls and data with 4G connectivity throughout the validity period, making it ideal for the entire duration of the pilgrimage.

Available at Key Locations on the Yatra Route

Pilgrims can easily buy the BSNL Yatra SIM at various checkpoints in Jammu and Kashmir where the Amarnath Yatra starts or halts. These locations include:

Simple Activation Process with KYC

To activate the SIM, users need to complete a KYC (Know Your Customer) process. The following documents are required:

  • Aadhaar card or any government-issued ID

  • Shri Amarnath Yatra slip

Once verified, BSNL will provide an active 4G SIM immediately.

BSNL’s Role in Maha Kumbh

Earlier this year, BSNL played a key role in improving communication services during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. At the event:

  • Free SIM cards were distributed to devotees

  • A customer care center was set up to resolve issues

  • SIM cards were given from local telecom circles

  • BSNL also offered replacement SIMs for lost or damaged ones

    1. Enter your PIN code, name, and alternate mobile number

    2. An OTP will be sent to the alternate number for confirmation
