India’s electric vehicle (EV) market is set to heat up in the next 3–5 months with the arrival of several highly awaited models.
Big names like Maruti Suzuki, Tata, MG, and Kia are preparing to launch new EVs, many of which were first shown at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. These vehicles will soon be seen in showrooms across the country.
Maruti e-Vitara & Tata Sierra EV: The Next Big Electric SUVs
Maruti e-Vitara will be Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, expected to launch in September 2025. It will be made in Gujarat and also exported to global markets.
The SUV will offer two battery options—49 kWh and 61 kWh—with the larger one giving a range of over 500 km.
Key features include 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10-way power driver seat, Level 2 ADAS, and 7 airbags.
Tata Sierra EV, bringing back the iconic Sierra name in a new avatar, will launch in October 2025. This all-electric SUV will come in 4- and 5-seater options.
It will share 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs with the Harrier EV and is expected to deliver 500+ km range using Tata’s new Gen 2 Acti.ev platform.
MG Cyberster & Kia Clavis EV: Changing the Game for Premium and Family EVs
MG Cyberster is a two-door electric convertible that marks MG’s entry into the premium EV segment.
Set to launch in August 2025, the Cyberster will have a 77 kWh battery, delivering 505 bhp and 725 Nm of torque.
It will do 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The car will be sold through MG Select showrooms, and bookings are already open.
Kia Carens Clavis EV will be India’s first 7-seater electric car. It is based on the ICE Carens and will likely get 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs, similar to the Hyundai Creta EV.
The Clavis EV is expected to offer a range of up to 473 km, making it a great option for families.
MG M9: The Luxury Electric MPV Made for the Elite
MG M9, known as “The Presidential Limousine,” is a luxury electric MPV. It will come with 16-way massage seats, dual panoramic sunroofs, ambient lighting, and a high-end sound system.
The M9 will be sold alongside the Cyberster via MG Select outlets, and pre-bookings have already started.
With these new electric cars coming soon, Indian buyers will have more choices than ever—whether they want a premium convertible, a spacious family SUV, or a luxury MPV.
