After Air India and IndiGo, Now SpiceJet Plane Faces Technical Issue

A SpiceJet flight from Hyderabad to Tirupati had to return just 10 minutes after take-off due to a technical issue.

The flight, SG 2696, took off from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, at 6:10 am on Thursday with 80 passengers on board.

The plane landed safely back at Hyderabad airport. SpiceJet stated that alternative arrangements were being made to take the passengers to Tirupati.

Lufthansa Flight Turned Back on June 15

On June 15, a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Hyderabad was turned back after a bomb threat was received at Hyderabad airport. The email threat was sent at 6:01 pm to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport officials.

Airport authorities immediately formed a special committee to review the situation and followed all standard safety procedures.

For safety reasons, the flight was advised to return to its origin or the nearest airport. Eventually, Hyderabad ATC received confirmation that the aircraft was heading back to Frankfurt.

The flight, LH752, had taken off from Frankfurt around 2:15 pm. It had not yet entered Indian airspace when it was ordered to return. About two hours after departure, the plane landed safely at Frankfurt airport.

June 12 Air India Tragedy

On June 12, an Air India aircraft crashed minutes after taking off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport en route to London Gatwick.

Of the 242 people on board, 241 were killed. The crash also caused the deaths of 33 people on the ground, making it one of the deadliest air disasters in recent history.
