Vodafone Idea 5G Update: Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced that it will launch its high-speed 5G services in Delhi-NCR starting May 15.
The announcement was made on May 14, marking an important step in Vi’s national 5G rollout.
Vi has already introduced 5G services in Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Patna, and the launch in Delhi-NCR will expand its 5G presence further.
Vi plans to roll out 5G in all 17 priority telecom circles by August this year, where the company holds 5G spectrum rights.
Technology Behind Vi’s 5G
Vi has partnered with Ericsson to build its 5G network in Delhi-NCR. This partnership focuses on energy-efficient hardware and improved infrastructure.
Vi has also deployed AI-powered Self-Organizing Network (SON) technology, which enhances network capacity and efficiency.
The company is using 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) architecture, allowing a smooth transition between 4G and 5G networks. This helps ensure a seamless experience for users.
Vi 5G Plan Starts at ₹299
Vi’s starting 5G plan is priced at ₹299. As part of a limited-time introductory offer, users will get unlimited data with this plan.
Subscribers can enjoy smooth video streaming, online gaming, fast downloads, video calls, and access to cloud services with Vi’s 5G network.
Coming Soon to Bengaluru and Mysore
Vodafone Idea stated that the rollout is part of its ₹55,000 crore capital expenditure plan, spread over the next three years. Cities like Bengaluru and Mysore are next in line for 5G launch.
In Mumbai, nearly 70% of Vi users are already using 5G, and around 20% of Vi’s total data traffic is currently running on the 5G network.
