LIC Update: You can now pay your LIC policy premium using WhatsApp.
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched a new service for its customers, allowing them to pay their premiums through WhatsApp.
This new feature works via LIC’s WhatsApp Bot and aims to provide a simple and fast way for customers to make payments anytime and from anywhere.
How to Pay LIC Premium on WhatsApp
To use this service, send ‘HI’ on WhatsApp to 8976862090, the official LIC WhatsApp number.
After sending the message, several options will appear. You can select the one that matches your need.
If your policy is already registered on the LIC website, you will be able to see your due premium directly on the WhatsApp Bot.
You can then make the payment using UPI, net banking, or debit/credit cards. Once the payment is completed, you’ll receive an instant receipt.
LIC Chairman and Managing Director Siddharth Mohanty said this service will improve speed and transparency for customers.
Using a popular platform like WhatsApp makes LIC services more accessible and convenient than ever.
How to Register on the LIC Website
If you haven’t registered your policy online, you first need to sign up on LIC’s official website: www.licindia.in. Follow these steps to register:
What You’ll Need:
Your policy number (in your name or your minor children’s name)
Premium amount (excluding GST or service tax)
A scanned copy of your PAN card or Passport (less than 100 KB, jpg/jpeg format)
Steps to Register:
Go to the LIC website and click on Customer Portal.
Select New User.
Create a User ID and Password to register.
Log in, go to Basic Services, click on Add Policy, and enter your policy details.
After this, you can start using basic online services.
To Access Premier Services:
Step 1: Fill the online form
Your mobile number, email, and date of birth will already be filled in.
Enter your PAN or Passport number.
All your policies will be listed.
Step 2: Print and sign the form
Download the form, review it, and sign it.
Have a scanned copy of your PAN or Passport ready (under 100 KB).
Step 3: Upload documents
Go back to the website and upload the scanned form and documents.
Click Submit.
You will receive a confirmation via SMS and email. Your Premier Services will be activated within 3 working days after verification by the Customer Zone.
This new WhatsApp service from LIC is a smart use of technology and a major step forward for customers.
