If you’re an LIC policyholder and find it difficult to manage your premium payments, LIC has introduced a solution.
You can now pay the premiums for all your LIC policies directly through WhatsApp, making the process easier and more convenient from home.
LIC has launched a new ‘WhatsApp Bot’ service to help customers with this. A dedicated number has been issued for this service, and here’s how it works:
According to a press release by LIC, the service will offer customers an additional way to pay premiums online.
Users registered on the LIC customer portal can use the WhatsApp number 8976862090 to check the due policies
and make payments via UPI, Net Banking, or card within the WhatsApp Bot.
The entire process, from identifying the due policy to receiving the premium receipt, will be handled within the WhatsApp Bot itself.
Siddhartha Mohanty, CEO and MD of LIC, stated that this new feature will make it easier for LIC customers to pay premiums from anywhere at any time through WhatsApp.
He emphasized that this initiative will enhance efficiency and service quality.
LIC currently has over 2.2 crore registered policyholders on its portal, with more than 3 lakh users logging in daily for various online services.
How to use LIC’s WhatsApp service at 8976862090:
LIC policyholders who have registered on the LIC portal can access these services by messaging ‘Hi’ to WhatsApp number 8976862090.
Once you send the message, 15 service options will appear. To avail of a service, simply select the corresponding number from the list. Here’s what you can do:
