Customers can now order a new SIM card online and receive it at home within just 90 minutes.

Aiming to Compete with Private Telecom Companies

This move is seen as BSNL’s effort to compete with private companies like Bharti Airtel. Airtel had earlier partnered with Blinkit to offer fast SIM delivery.

Similarly, BSNL users can now visit the company’s official partner website — https://prune.co.in/ — to book a SIM card. Once booked, the SIM will be delivered to the customer within 90 minutes.

BSNL Receives Key Spectrum for 5G Rollout

BSNL has recently been allocated spectrum in premium 5G bands such as 700 MHz and 3,300 MHz.

These bands are important for high-speed 5G services. While private companies like Jio and Airtel have already rolled out 5G across much of the country, BSNL is working to catch up by launching its own 5G network soon.

According to Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, BSNL added 55 lakh new subscribers over the last six to seven months.

From June last year to February this year, the number of BSNL users grew from around 8.55 crore to approximately 9.1 crore.

The company has also taken steps to increase revenue and reduce operational costs to improve overall performance.

April Declared as ‘Customer Service Month’

To enhance user experience, BSNL declared April as ‘Customer Service Month.’

During this period, the company focused on collecting feedback from customers across the country to improve its services and customer support.

Target to Launch One Lakh 4G Sites by June

BSNL is also planning to upgrade its 4G network to 5G starting from June. The company aims to launch nearly one lakh 4G sites as part of this upgrade.

So far, around 89,000 sites have already been installed, moving BSNL closer to its goal.
