Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), the airport operator, announced that the closure is part of annual maintenance work ahead of the monsoon season.

The mandatory NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) was issued six months ago to give airlines ample time to adjust their flight schedules accordingly.

Why is Maintenance Necessary?

The maintenance is crucial for the upkeep and safety of the airport’s airside infrastructure, which spans 1,033 acres.
