End of Heat Wave and upcoming Weather Changes

The country is currently experiencing a heatwave, but there’s some relief on the way.

The Meteorological Department has announced that the heatwave will end in Rajasthan on 19th April and in Saurashtra and Kutch on 18th April.

Additionally, the Western Disturbance will affect the western Himalayan regions until 20th April, bringing heavy rain on 18th and 19th April.

Weather conditions will start to change in the plains of North India from tomorrow, and an alert has been issued for rain, thunderstorms, and more from 18th to 20th April.

Weather Alerts Across the Country

In North-East India, strong winds of 50 km/h are expected for the next five days. Rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are forecasted for Vidarbha on 17th April and Chhattisgarh on 17th and 18th April.

Heavy rainfall is predicted in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar on 17th April, in Gangetic West Bengal on 18th April,

and in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura between 17th and 23rd April. A hailstorm is also expected in Gangetic West Bengal on 17th April.

Western disturbances will affect both the hilly and plain areas of North India, with strong winds at 50 km/h in the western Himalayan region on 18th and 19th April.

Rain, storms, and lightning are expected, with alerts issued for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 20th to 21st April.

Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh will experience heavy rain on 18th and 19th April, and there will be storms, lightning,

and winds at speeds of up to 40 km/h in North India’s plains between 18th and 20th Apr

In Rajasthan, dust storms are expected in eastern regions on 17th April, and in the western parts of the state, dust storms are predicted on 18th and 19th April.

Temperature Forecasts

There won’t be significant changes in the temperature across Northwest India, but it is expected to increase by about 4°C in the next two days.

Meanwhile, Central India is likely to see an increase of 2-3°C in maximum temperatures over the next five days.
