Maruti Suzuki has announced that it will raise the prices of some of its popular models from April 8, 2025.
The price hike has been attributed to rising input costs, operational expenses, new regulations, and the addition of new features to the cars.
The increase will vary across models, with the Grand Vitara seeing the largest rise of up to Rs 62,000.
Which Cars Will Be Affected and by How Much?
Here’s how the prices will change:
Grand Vitara: Price will increase by up to Rs 62,000.
Eco Van: Will become costlier by Rs 22,500.
Wagon-R: Price increase of Rs 14,000.
XL6 and Ertiga: Prices will rise by Rs 12,500.
Dzire Tour S: Will be costlier by Rs 3,000.
Compact SUV Fronx: Will see a price hike of Rs 2,500.
Why Are Car Prices Rising?
Maruti Suzuki has stated that the price hike is due to several factors, including the rising cost of raw materials, operational expenses, new regulations, and the addition of new features to its models.
Although the company has been trying to manage these costs, some of the additional expenses will be passed on to the customers.
This Is the Third Price Hike in 2025
This price increase marks the third time Maruti Suzuki has raised car prices in 2025. The company had already implemented price hikes in January and February.
Despite the price increases, Maruti Suzuki reported a slight decline in its car deliveries for March 2025, with 1,50,743 units sold, a 1% decrease compared to last year’s 1,52,718 units.
Earlier, in January 2025, the company raised prices by up to Rs 32,500, effective from February 1.
