SBI and Bank of Baroda launches New Initiatives for Women

State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest public sector bank, has introduced special financial benefits for women on the occasion of International Women’s Day

To support women entrepreneurs, the bank launched a new product called ‘Asmita’, which provides unsecured loans at low-interest rates.

New ‘Nari Shakti’ Debit Card Introduced

SBI Chairman CS Shetty stated that these offerings will make it easier for women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to get quick loans.

The bank’s Managing Director Vinay Tonse highlighted that this move represents both technological innovation and social equality.

Additionally, SBI introduced the ‘Nari Shakti’ Platinum Debit Card, powered by RuPay, specifically designed for women.

This card is meant to offer enhanced banking benefits and convenience.

Bank of Baroda’s Special Offer for Women

Apart from SBI, Bank of Baroda (BOB) has also announced a special gift for women of Indian origin.

The bank launched the ‘BOB Global Women NRE and NRO Savings Account’, which offers:

Higher interest rates on deposits

Lower processing fees for home and vehicle loans

Discounts on locker rentals

BOB is the first public sector bank to introduce such an account for women account holders.

The bank has also enhanced its BOB Premium NRE and NRO Savings Account, offering improved benefits for Non-Resident Indian (NRI) customers.

Exclusive Benefits for Women Customers

BOB Executive Director Bina Waheed stated that the BOB Global Women NRE and NRO Savings Account is designed to meet the needs of modern Indian women worldwide. The account provides premium banking privileges, such as:

A customized debit card with higher transaction limits

Complimentary access to domestic and international airport lounges

Free safe deposit locker

Personal and air accident insurance coverage

With these new initiatives, SBI and BOB aim to empower women financially and provide them with exclusive banking benefits.
