Vodafone Idea (Vi) has made major changes to its prepaid plans.
The company has reshuffled its portfolio across different circles, introducing new plans, increasing prices, and reducing benefits in some cases.
Some updates are limited to specific regions, while others are available widely. Here’s a simple breakdown of all the key changes.
Price Hike in Popular Plans
Vi has increased the price of some of its well-known prepaid plans.
The ₹649 plan is now priced at ₹670 in select circles. This updated “Nonstop Hero” plan offers unlimited data (4G+5G), unlimited calling,
and 100 SMS per day with 56 days validity. However, unlimited 5G data works only in areas where 5G is available.
In some regions, the ₹649 plan still exists with older benefits like 2GB daily data instead of unlimited usage.
Similarly, the ₹1020 plan has been revised to ₹1050. This plan now offers unlimited data, calls, and 100 SMS per day for 84 days.
Benefits Reduced in Some Plans
Vi has also reduced benefits in several prepaid plans without changing their prices.
Earlier, some plans came under the “Nonstop Hero” category, which offered unlimited data. Now, many of these have been downgraded to “Hero Unlimited” plans, where daily data limits apply.
For example:
₹696 plan: 2GB daily data, unlimited calls, 100 SMS/day, and Amazon Prime Lite for 56 days
₹795 plan: 3GB daily data, OTT benefits like SonyLIV and ZEE5 access
₹979 & ₹994 plans: 2GB daily data with OTT subscriptions
₹1198 plan: Includes Netflix Basic subscription with 70 days validity
Once the daily data limit is used, speed drops to 64Kbps.
What’s the Difference Between Plans?
Understanding the two categories is important:
Nonstop Hero Plans
These offer unlimited data throughout the day, mainly for personal use.
Hero Unlimited Plans
These come with limited daily data but include extra benefits like:
Free night data (12 AM to 6 AM)
Weekend data rollover
Up to 2GB backup data every month
New Cheaper Plan Introduced
Vi has also introduced a more affordable option.
The older ₹1197 plan has been removed in some circles. In its place, a new ₹1005 plan has been launched in select regions.
This new plan offers:
Unlimited calls
Unlimited data (4G+5G)
100 SMS per day
84 days validity
Again, unlimited 5G is only available where coverage exists.
New Plans Launched for Users
Vi has added several new prepaid plans to attract more users.
₹325 Plan
This is a budget-friendly option with:
Unlimited calls
10GB data
300 SMS
28 days validity
After data is used, charges apply per MB.
₹2099 Plan
A long-term plan offering:
Unlimited data (4G+5G)
Unlimited calls
100 SMS/day
180 days validity
This is currently available in select circles.
₹2180 Plan (Tamil Nadu & Chennai)
Similar benefits as above, with 180 days validity.
Special Cricket Data Pack
Vi has also introduced a ₹44 cricket data add-on pack.
This pack includes:
1GB data for 1 day
JioHotstar Mobile subscription for 28 days
