The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the Agricultural Entrepreneur Swavalamban Agri Junction Scheme to help educated youth become self-employed in the agriculture sector.

The scheme not only creates employment opportunities for agriculture graduates but also makes modern farming services easily available to farmers.

Started in 2022-23, the government aims to set up 10,000 Agri Junction Centres across the state by 2027.

What is the Agri Junction Scheme?

Under this scheme, selected candidates can open an Agri Junction Centre in their area.

These centres provide farmers with several important services under one roof.

Farmers can buy quality seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and organic products.

They can also get soil testing, expert farming advice, agricultural equipment on rent, and information about various government schemes without visiting multiple offices.

The scheme is expected to improve farming practices while creating new business opportunities for educated youth.

Thousands of Agri Junction Centres Already Open

The scheme has already shown encouraging results.

By the beginning of 2025, more than 6,608 Agri Junction Centres had been established across Uttar Pradesh.

These centres are helping farmers by providing seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, soil testing, farm equipment, and expert guidance close to their villages.

As a result, farmers no longer have to depend on distant markets for essential agricultural services.

Financial Support for Young Entrepreneurs

The scheme has opened the door to self-employment for thousands of agriculture graduates and rural youth.

Eligible candidates can receive bank loans of up to ₹5 lakh, government subsidy of up to ₹60,000, free training, rental assistance, and the necessary licenses to start their Agri Junction Centre.
