Millions of EPF subscribers across the country will not be able to access several online PF services for the next few days.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has temporarily suspended its digital services due to a major technology upgrade.
The temporary shutdown will affect services on both the EPFO portal and the government’s UMANG app. During this period, users may face delays in filing claims, checking balances, and using other PF-related services.
EPFO Portal Services Closed for Three Days
According to an official notice, EPFO is upgrading its software applications and database systems to improve security and performance.
As part of this process, online claim submission and claim processing services on the EPFO portal have been suspended from June 26 and will remain unavailable until 11:59 PM on June 28, 2026.
All services on the EPFO portal are expected to resume from June 29, 2026.
During the maintenance period, members cannot submit fresh online claims. Claims that were already filed before the shutdown will also be processed only after services are restored.
UMANG App Services to Remain Unavailable Until July 2
EPFO has also announced that PF-related services on the UMANG app will remain suspended until July 2, 2026.
Because of this extended maintenance, users will not be able to access several important services through the app, including:
Checking PF balance
Filing a new claim
Tracking claim status
Using UAN-related services
Registering complaints
Applying for Scheme Certificate and Life Certificate
Why Is EPFO Upgrading Its Systems?
EPFO says the technology upgrade is aimed at making its digital platform more secure, faster, and efficient. The new system is expected to improve claim processing and reduce settlement time in the future.
For now, PF subscribers with urgent work may have to wait until the services are restored. The EPFO portal will start working again on June 29, while UMANG app services will return on July 2, 2026.
