UIDAI Starts Registration for Internship 2026 (Stipend Up to ₹50,000)

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the agency that issues Aadhaar, has started applications for its PhD Internship 2026.

Selected candidates will get a monthly stipend of ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 and an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), biometrics, computer vision, and workforce analytics.

Who Can Apply?

The internship is open to candidates pursuing a PhD or research degree from a recognised institution.

Applicants should be studying or conducting research in fields such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, IT Law and Data Privacy, Digital Economy, Public Policy, Management, or other related subjects.

Candidates must also submit a recommendation letter from their PhD or research supervisor.

If a candidate is already receiving a fellowship or stipend from another source, UIDAI will provide only the difference (gap amount) instead of the full internship stipend.

Skills Required

For the Biometrics domain, candidates should have research experience in deep learning, computer vision, face recognition, fingerprint matching, or similar technologies.

For the Human Resource (HR) domain, applicants should have knowledge of workforce analytics, talent acquisition, institutional training, employee retention, and data-driven HR models.

How Will Candidates Be Selected?

UIDAI has not announced any written examination for this internship.

According to the internship policy, applications will be screened by a selection committee appointed by the Deputy Director General. Shortlisted candidates may be called for an offline or online interview.

The final selection will be made based on the committee’s recommendation.
