Previously set to conclude on September 14, 2023, the deadline for free Aadhaar updates has now been extended by three months, offering users more time to ensure their Aadhaar details are accurate.

UIDAI has issued a circular on September 6, 2023, emphasizing its commitment to providing free services for updating Aadhaar information.

The extension grants an additional three months, running from September 15, 2023, to December 14, 2023.

myAadhaar Portal for Free Updates

Users can conveniently update their Aadhaar documents for free through the official myAadhaar portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

Additionally, Aadhaar holders with documents that are ten years old are encouraged to update their information to maintain the accuracy of their demographic details.

Online Updates Free of Charge

UIDAI emphasizes that Aadhaar updates can be easily completed online at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in without any associated fees.

However, those opting to update their Aadhaar information at a Common Service Centre (CSC) or Aadhaar center will be subject to a nominal fee of Rs 25.

Updating Address Proof

To update address proof in Aadhaar for free, follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
  2. Log in and select the option to update name/gender/date of birth and address.
  3. Click on the “Update Aadhaar Online” option.
  4. Select your address from the list of demographic options and click on “Aadhar Update Proceed.”
  5. Upload a scanned copy of your address proof and provide the necessary demographic information.
  6. A Service Request Number (SRN) will be generated; make sure to note it down. Your address will be updated upon verification.
