Goa has received a new boost in air connectivity with the launch of a direct flight between Mopa’s Manohar International Airport and Mundra in Gujarat.

The service has been introduced by regional airline Star Air and started operations on June 23.

This new route makes travel between Goa and western Gujarat easier, while also supporting tourism and business movement between the two regions.

New Direct Flight to Strengthen Goa–Gujarat Travel

The Mopa–Mundra flight will operate five days a week, from Tuesday to Saturday.

Officials believe this new connection will help passengers travel more conveniently, especially business travellers and tourists.

Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte welcomed the launch, saying that better air connectivity is key to making Goa more accessible throughout the year.

He added that the new route will strengthen travel ties between Goa and Gujarat and open up more opportunities for visitors.

The launch comes at a time when Mundra Airport has also begun commercial flight operations, making the timing of this route even more significant for regional connectivity.

Tourism Push and Growing Air Network

According to Goa’s Tourism Department, the new service will improve tourist inflow and encourage stronger economic links between the two states.

It also provides travellers from Gujarat and nearby regions with a new and convenient gateway to Goa.

Tourism Director Kedar Naik said expanding air routes is a key part of Goa’s strategy to attract visitors from new markets and make travel easier.

He added that the government is working with airlines and aviation partners to continue expanding connectivity and support sustainable tourism growth.

With Mopa Airport already serving as Goa’s second major airport, this new route further strengthens the state’s growing domestic flight network and travel options for passengers.
