If you are planning to undertake the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026, make sure you follow the registration rules before starting your journey.

Authorities have issued an important advisory asking devotees to complete advance registration and travel only on their allotted dates.

Officials have warned that pilgrims without valid registration or those arriving before their scheduled date will not be allowed to proceed on the Yatra route.

Daily Pilgrim Limit in Place

According to the advisory, the number of pilgrims allowed on the Amarnath Yatra route each day has been fixed as per the directions of the Supreme Court of India.

The daily limit has been introduced to ensure the safety of devotees and to help the administration manage the pilgrimage smoothly.

Advance Registration Is Mandatory

Authorities said advance registration for the Amarnath Yatra 2026 was opened well before the pilgrimage through designated bank branches across the country and online platforms.

A large number of devotees have already completed the registration process.

As a result, only a limited number of Tatkal (on-the-spot) registration slots are now available.

Do Not Travel Without Registration

Officials have clearly advised devotees not to travel to Jammu and Kashmir without prior registration.

Due to the daily quota and limited capacity, unregistered pilgrims reaching the Yatra base camps cannot be accommodated or allowed to continue the pilgrimage.

Follow Your Allotted Travel Date

Authorities have also asked registered pilgrims to strictly follow the travel date mentioned on their registration.

Some devotees have reportedly reached the Yatra before their scheduled date.

However, officials have made it clear that entry to the pilgrimage route will not be allowed before the registered date under any circumstances.

Already in Jammu and Kashmir Without Registration?

Pilgrims who have already reached Jammu and Kashmir without registration have been requested to wait for their turn under the existing system.

Officials assured that every registered devotee will get an opportunity to undertake the pilgrimage, but only according to the allotted schedule and subject to the daily capacity limit.

Authorities Seek Devotees’ Cooperation

The administration has appealed to all pilgrims to follow the rules, cooperate with officials and maintain discipline throughout the Yatra.

Authorities believe that following the registration process and travel schedule will help ensure a safe, smooth and well-organised pilgrimage experience for everyone.
