The Rajasthan government has introduced a new digital service that could make many everyday government tasks much easier for residents.

People can now access several e-Mitra services directly through WhatsApp without visiting a government office or e-Mitra centre.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched the e-Mitra WhatsApp service on July 1, 2026, during an e-governance event. The initiative aims to save people time and make government services more accessible from home.

27 Government Services Available on WhatsApp

One of the biggest advantages of the new service is that users do not need to download a separate app. They can access the service directly through WhatsApp on their mobile phones.

The Rajasthan government has introduced the official WhatsApp number 94610-62705. Citizens can send a message to this number to access 27 important government services.

These include services related to caste certificates, domicile certificates, income certificates and EWS certificates. People can also use the service to pay electricity and water bills.

Earlier, many of these tasks required a visit to an e-Mitra centre or government office. The WhatsApp facility is expected to reduce waiting time and make the process more convenient.

More Services Could Be Added Soon

Rajasthan’s e-Mitra platform currently provides more than 600 government services. The government plans to gradually bring more important services to WhatsApp.

According to the plan, around 100 essential services could be made available through WhatsApp in the first phase next year. This would allow residents to complete even more government-related tasks using their phones.

25,000 Mini e-Mitras Also Planned

The Rajasthan government is also preparing to appoint around 25,000 young men and women as “mini e-Mitras.” They are expected to provide government services to people at their doorstep using mobile technology.

Along with these initiatives, the state is planning a new IT policy to strengthen digital governance and attract more investment in the technology sector.

With certificates, bill payments and other services moving to WhatsApp, Rajasthan residents could soon complete many routine government tasks without standing in long queues or making repeated visits to offices.
