LPG Price Slashed: Relief for Consumers as Gas Cylinder Prices Drop on May 1

On May 1, 2024, the Modi government has announced a reduction in LPG cylinder prices, bringing relief to the common people.

Commercial Gas Cylinder Prices Reduced

Oil marketing companies have slashed the prices of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders by Rs 20, effective from May 1, 2024.

Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial cylinders by Rs 20 from today. In Delhi, the price has decreased by Rs 19 to Rs 1745.50.

Kolkata sees a reduction of Rs 20, with the cylinder now priced at Rs 1859. Mumbai and Chennai witness a decrease of Rs 19, making the cylinder available for Rs 1698.50 and Rs 1911, respectively.

Domestic Cylinder Prices Unchanged

Contrary to commercial cylinders, the prices of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinders remain the same.

They are priced at ₹ 803 in Delhi, ₹ 829 in Kolkata, ₹ 802.50 in Mumbai, and ₹ 818.50 in Chennai.

For general customers in Delhi, the price remains Rs 803, while for Ujjwala beneficiaries, it stays at Rs 603.

Previous Price Comparison

Last month, on April 1, oil marketing companies had reduced the price of commercial cylinders by more than Rs 30.

After the reduction, the price in Delhi stood at Rs 1764.50. In March, it was Rs 1795.

On April 1, commercial gas cylinders were priced at Rs 1879 in Kolkata, Rs 1717.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 1930 in Chennai.
