Reliance Jio has brought back its popular Jio Prime membership after nearly a decade.

The new membership is priced at Rs 300 and comes with a major benefit — price protection on eligible Jio plans for one year.

Under the offer, customers can continue recharging with eligible Jio plans at their current prices until September 5, 2027, even if the company increases tariffs during this period.

The membership has been reintroduced as Jio celebrates 10 years of its journey.

What Do You Get With Jio Prime Membership?

Jio Prime costs Rs 300 as a one-time membership fee. Along with the price guarantee, members will get several additional benefits.

Customers can receive cashback vouchers worth up to Rs 600.

This includes a Rs 300 voucher for taking a new JioHome or JioPC connection and another Rs 300 voucher for adding a new Jio SIM for a friend or family member.

Members will also get early access to new Jio products, services and trials.

Priority customer support and other exclusive benefits will also be available.

Jio has said that more member-exclusive benefits may be announced during the membership period.

Who Can Buy Jio Prime?

The membership is available to both existing prepaid and postpaid Jio customers.

People using another telecom network can also become Jio Prime members by porting their number to Jio or taking a new Jio connection.

Customers can purchase the membership through the MyJio app, Jio.com, Jio Stores and authorised Jio partner stores.

Jio Prime Was First Launched in 2017

Jio originally introduced Prime Membership in February 2017 at a one-time fee of Rs 99.

At that time, the programme was designed for Jio’s first 100 million customers, who were offered special benefits as part of what the company called its Founding Customers or Members programme.

The subscription officially started on March 1, 2017, and closed on March 31, 2017.

Now, almost 10 years later, Jio has brought the Prime programme back with a new focus on price certainty and additional customer benefits.

What About the Jio Rs 299 Plan?

One of the key plans covered under Jio’s current pricing is the Rs 299 prepaid plan.

The plan currently offers 1.5GB of high-speed data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day.

It has a validity of 28 days.

Once the daily high-speed data limit is used, internet speed is reduced to up to 64 Kbps.

The Rs 299 plan also comes with JioTV and JioAICloud benefits, along with a promotional offer for an 18-month Google Gemini Pro plan for eligible users.

Jio has said that the Rs 299 plan will continue for users, while Prime membership provides additional protection against eligible tariff increases during the price-guarantee period.

Is Jio Prime Worth Rs 300?

For customers who already recharge regularly with eligible Jio plans, the Rs 300 membership could provide some protection against future tariff hikes.

The biggest attraction is that members can continue using eligible plans at today’s prices until September 5, 2027, even if prices are revised during this period.

The additional vouchers, early access and priority support make the membership more useful for customers who regularly use Jio’s services.

With the return of Jio Prime, the telecom company is once again offering its customers a way to lock in today’s eligible recharge prices while getting additional benefits.
