The recently unveiled Hurun India Rich List 2023 also highlights the remarkable achievements of professional managers who have accumulated substantial wealth through their contributions to businesses.

Topping this exclusive list is Jayashree Ullal, with her net worth of Rs 20,800 crore, thanks to her role as Arista Networks’ CEO.

Jayashree Ullal, who was born in London and raised in Delhi, assumed her role as CEO of the cloud networking giant in 2008.

Thomas Kurian of Oracle Claims the Second Spot

Not far behind, Thomas Kurian, hailing from Kerala, secures the second position on the list of India’s richest professional managers.

With a net worth of Rs 15,800 crore, Kurian’s career journey began at McKinsey & Company before eventually leading him to Oracle, where he assumed the role of president.

Since 2019, Kurian has been at the helm of Google Cloud as its CEO.

Ajaypal Singh Banga, World Bank President, Ranks Third

Ajaypal Singh Banga, the President of the World Bank, takes the third spot with total assets valued at Rs 7,600 crore.

Banga’s illustrious career commenced after his studies at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and IIM-Ahmedabad. He also served as the CEO and Executive Chairman of Mastercard.

Satya Nadella and Nikesh Arora Secure Fourth and Fifth Positions

Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, with a total wealth of Rs 7,500 crore, secures the fourth place.

Similar to Banga, Nadella studied at the Hyderabad Public School. Nikesh Arora of Palo Alto Networks follows closely behind, ranking fifth with assets worth Rs 7,400 crore.

Sundar Pichai Lands in Sixth Place

Surprisingly, Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, finds himself in the sixth position on the list of India’s richest professional managers, boasting a net worth of Rs 5,400 crore. An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, Pichai joined Google in 2004.

India’s Growing Billionaire Club

The Hurun India Rich List 2023, released yesterday, reveals that India now boasts 259 billionaires, an increase of 38 from the previous year.

Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries, reclaims the title of the richest Indian, with a net worth of Rs 8,08,700 crore, surpassing Gautam Adani, who ranks second with a net worth of Rs 4,74,800 crore.

Notable figures like Cyrus Poonawala, Shiv Nadar, and Gopichand Hinduja also feature prominently in the list. Notably, Byju Raveendran, founder of edtech startup Byju’s, has been omitted from the list due to a reduction in the company’s valuation.
