1. Nationwide Verification Portal: The government employed a nationwide verification portal as its “communication partner” to execute the massive disconnection of phone numbers issued with fake documents.

This portal allows individuals to check the active connections linked to their identity cards, enabling them to report any unauthorized connections.

Deactivation of 55.52 Lakh Connections: Communications Minister Devusingh Chauhan announced the success of the initiative in Parliament, revealing that 55.52 lakh connections were deactivated as a result of the rigorous verification process that identified connections obtained through fraudulent means.

3. Handsets and Suspicious Connections: In addition to disconnecting phone numbers, the government took action against cybercrime and financial fraud by blocking 1.32 lakh handsets.

Furthermore, 13.42 lakh suspicious connections reported by vigilant citizens were also promptly disconnected.
