DGCA Unveils Summer Flight Schedule: IndiGo, Air India, and Vistara Lead the Way

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced the eagerly awaited summer schedule for airlines, spelling out an uptick in domestic flights by 6 percent compared to the previous year.

With a total of 24,275 weekly domestic flights set to take wing starting March 31,

the aviation regulator’s decision comes as a boon for air passengers.

Airlines Flight Breakdown:

In the upcoming summer schedule from March 31 to October 26, 2024, industry giants IndiGo, Air India, and Vistara are slated to ramp up their flight operations.

IndiGo will soar with 13,050 flights, marking a notable surge of 13.82 percent, followed by Air India with 2,278 flights, showcasing a 4.59 percent uptick.

Vistara will fly a remarkable 25.22 percent more weekly flights, totaling 2,324 flights. Meanwhile,

SpiceJet is poised to trim its weekly flights by 22.28 percent to 1,657.

International Flight Expansion:

DGCA’s summer schedule also outlines a robust expansion in international flights, with India connecting to 37 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Maldives.

Leading carriers such as Air India, IndiGo, and Vistara are gearing up for increased international operations, reflecting a promising outlook for global connectivity.

The summer schedule paints a dynamic picture, with a total of 24,275 domestic flights scheduled weekly from 125 airports across the nation.
