Bullet Train: Japan’s Fastest E10 Shinkansen to Run in India! Agreement Finalized

A major update has arrived for India’s first bullet train project. Japan’s upcoming E10 Shinkansen trains will be used on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor.

These advanced trains will launch in Japan in 2030 and will also operate in India.

According to media reports, India had initially tested the E5 model, but later opted for the E10 series due to its higher speed, greater comfort, and latest technology.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor Details

  • Total route length: 508 km

    • 352 km in Gujarat

    • 156 km in Maharashtra

  • Built using Japanese Shinkansen technology

Expected to set new benchmarks in speed, safety, and reliability

Officials have confirmed that Japan will supply E10 trains for this important project.

This decision strengthens the India-Japan strategic partnership by bringing one of Japan’s most advanced train systems to India.
